Apple iPhone XS Max can be downgraded to iOS 14.1

We all know that every time Apple pushes a new version of iOS, it will close the verification channel of the last official version of the system. This makes it impossible for anyone who has the new update to downgrade to the previous version. However, on January 17, Apple quietly opened the signature verification of the iOS 14.1 (18A8395) version for the Apple iPhone XS Max Chinese version. Thus, users can choose to downgrade to this version.

As of now, it is not clear why Apple reopened this downgrade channel separately, nor why it is only for the Chinese version. In many cases, brands allow downgrades when there is an issue with the latest version. The official version of iOS 14.1 was released on October 21, 2020, and the verification channel was closed on November 13 of that year. The main updates include improved camera mode and HDR video recording for new models.
